FAQs

YOU’VE GOT QUESTIONS. WE’VE GOT ANSWERS.

Do you have any breed or weight restrictions?

Although we don't have any breed restrictions, we do have weight restrictions for some of our services.

For overnight boarding: We are currently not accepting any guests heavier than 50 pounds.

What is your service range for dog walks?

We are relatively new to dog walking and while we explore service areas in need, we are limiting our travel range to just about 15 minutes (~5 miles) in any direction from our home location in San Mateo.

How many guests will you have at a time?

We're a small business. Our goal is to offer your pet as much attention and care as our own pets. Due to this, we have the following limitations in place:

For boarding: We will never have more than 2 pets for overnight boarding for peak times (like holidays). We typically only accept 1 boarding guest at a time (2 dogs from the same family are okay). This ensures we can provide our overnight guests with the best care possible.

For dog walks, we do not offer the traditional "group" walks you see on TV. Our dog walks are private and each time slot is only open to dogs from the same household. If you'd like your pet to go on a pack walk with other dogs, please let us know so we can make arrangements.

How do I book a service?

Easy! Call or text us at 650- 539-9052 so we can answer any questions you might have. You can also reach us on Instagram @Mutty_Paws_ .

I have multiple pets. Do you offer special pricing for households with multiple pets?

Yes, please contact us (email, text, or call) for pricing!

Generally, a second dog from the same household on walks is an additional $10. A second dog from the same household for boarding is $65. An additional cat is $15.

How can I check on my pet during their stay?

We understand you'll want to check-in on your pet during their visit, so we'll provide plenty of pictures and videos via text throughout the day to keep you updated! In the evening we'll also give you a quick recap of how your pet did during the day.

What do you supply for overnight boarding? What do I need to drop-off with my pet?

A simple list: all you have to bring is anything that will make your pet comfortable and their food.

Although we have plenty of toys, doggy beds, and blankets, it sometimes helps your pet adjust to being away from home if they have something familiar to sleep on.

My pet has a special diet/requires medication. Can their needs be accommodated?

Of course! Please let us know ahead of time so we can make sure to note their specific needs!

Where will my pet sleep?

Please note that, for your pet's safety, we do use crates when it's time to sleep. While there are exceptions to this, it is rare and we do require pets be crate trained.

At what time can I drop-off my pet for overnight boarding?

We will reach out to you in the days leading up to your pet's visit to confirm their drop-off time. Drop-offs can be at any time during a scheduled visit.

At what time can I pick-up my pet from an overnight board?

Pick-up time for Boarding is between 8am to 5 pm. Anytime between 5pm and 8pm will be considered a half-day ($30 will be added to the final cost). Pick-ups after 8pm will incur a full overnight fee.

What vaccines does my dog need?

All dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations.  Owners must provide written proof that your dog(s) have received RABIES, DHLPP and BORDETELLA vaccinations. We also require all pets to be either spayed or neutered if older than 6 months. All dogs must have a complete, up-to-date and approved application on file before their first visit.

What happens if my pet gets hurt or sick during a daycare/boarding visit?

Please keep in mind that although the safety and health of your pets is very important to us, your dog(s) will be interacting with other dogs. The interaction your dog has with other dogs can create a chance of injury or development of illness.   Although, we can not have 100% control of this, we will take every precaution possible to reduce the risk. Common injuries can include sore feet, muscles, joints, nicks and scratches any where on the head and body due to running around and normal dog play.  Common illnesses can include diarrhea and air borne respiratory infections such as the common cold and kennel cough. We are not responsible for any vet costs due to these common issues.  You bring your dog at your own risk. To minimize potential accidents, your pet will never be left unsupervised. We are also insured in the event of a serious injury to your pet!
